In a tragic event, a woman was discovered hanging at her in-laws' home located in Sheikhpur village, Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh. Authorities are treating this incident as a potential suicide.

The victim has been identified as Sarita Rajbhar, who reportedly went to bed after dinner on August 22. When her in-laws knocked on her door without receiving a reply, they looked through the window and found her hanging.

The Station House Officer (SHO) confirmed that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.

Sarita was married to Abhishek Rajbhar in June 2025, and her husband works for a private company.

The SHO stated, 'The motive behind the suicide remains unclear. We are currently investigating the situation.'

In a separate incident, a 40-year-old man succumbed to his burn injuries after allegedly setting a woman on fire in the Kuttiyattur region of Kannur district, Kerala. This occurred while he was receiving treatment at Pariyaram Medical College Hospital.

The individual, identified as Jijesh, reportedly doused a 39-year-old woman named Praveena with petrol and ignited her on Wednesday.

Jijesh also suffered burns during the incident. Both he and Praveena were admitted to the hospital, but Praveena tragically passed away from her injuries the following day.

Police have indicated that a murder charge will be filed against Jijesh for his actions.

According to reports, Jijesh visited Praveena's rented accommodation around 2 PM on August 20, requesting water. He later attacked her while she was performing chores in the backyard.
