Indian Navy floats RFI for 76 helicopters to boost rescue, patrol missions

Synopsis

The Indian Navy has initiated a procurement process by issuing a Request for Information (RFI) for 76 Naval Utility Helicopters (NUHs). Out of these, 51 helicopters are intended for the Navy, while the remaining 25 are earmarked for the Indian Coast Guard.

The Indian Navy has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to procure 76 Naval Utility Helicopters (NUHs), ANI reported on Sunday. Of these, 51 will be inducted by the Navy, while 25 are planned for the Indian Coast Guard.

According to the helicopters will be deployed for multiple roles, including maritime search and rescue, casualty evacuation, communication duties, and low-intensity maritime operations (LIMO).
