Voter Rights Journey in Bihar

Recently, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav captured public attention during their 'Voter Rights Journey' in Bihar. They were seen riding a bullet bike as they entered Araria district from Purnia, marking the beginning of their 16-day campaign.

This initiative was launched to protest alleged irregularities in the state's voter list. A significant crowd gathered on the streets to catch a glimpse of Rahul Gandhi, who also serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, alongside Tejashwi Yadav.

However, this event sparked a new debate within the RJD. Tej Pratap Yadav, a former RJD MLA, criticized his brother Tejashwi and Rahul Gandhi, questioning their connection with the common people.

Tej Pratap remarked, 'During elections, everyone is busy securing their own interests. These leaders travel in air-conditioned cars and do not even shake hands with the public. We want to walk the paths of small villages and be leaders connected to the ground.'

Starting from Sasaram on August 17, this journey will cover over 1,300 kilometers and conclude with a rally in Patna on September 1, traversing more than 20 districts in 16 days.

During this journey, leaders from Congress and RJD are also expected to hold a joint press conference. While addressing a rally in Katihar, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of attempting to 'steal votes' ahead of the assembly elections, claiming that the party has closed doors of opportunities for the poor since coming to power.
