Murder Investigation in Balaji Hills

In a shocking incident, a man from Telangana was apprehended while attempting to dispose of the dismembered remains of his wife in the suburbs. Authorities reported that the crime occurred in Balaji Hills, a locality in the Hyderabad area of Medipally. The couple, Mahendra and Swathi, originally from Kamareddyguda in the Vikarabad district, had a romantic relationship that led to their marriage and subsequent settlement in Balaji Hills.

Police confirmed that around 4:30 PM on Saturday, Mahendra killed Swathi, also known as B. Swathi, and subsequently dismembered her body. Following the murder, he reached out to his sister, claiming that his wife was missing. His sister, feeling uneasy about the situation, informed another family member, who then took Mahendra to the police station.

Despite his attempts to report Swathi as missing, Mahendra eventually confessed to her murder during police questioning, as stated by DCP (Malkajgiri Zone) P V Padmaja. He is currently in custody and undergoing further interrogation.

According to police reports, Mahendra had already discarded parts of Swathi's body, including her head, hands, and legs, into the Musi River, but divers have yet to recover these remains. The torso is believed to still be at his residence. Tragically, Swathi was only 21 years old and five months pregnant at the time of her death.

Investigators have gathered forensic evidence, with only the torso of the victim found so far. Authorities plan to conduct a DNA test to confirm the identity of the deceased. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and a fast-tracked investigation and trial are expected to follow.
