Peacock's upcoming comedy The Paper, a spin-off of The Office, will drop all ten episodes at once on September 4, a network decision some fans are now claiming is a red flag.

Although the show boasts a cast led by Domhnall Gleeson, Tracy Letts, Ramona Young, and Alex Edelman, reactions online have been mixed following the trailer's debut.

"Well, that doesn't seem to bode well for their confidence with the show," wrote one Reddit user. "But I'm still going to give it a shot."

The Paper comes from screenwriter Greg Daniels', best known for The Office and King of the Hill, but viewers are wary given his involvement with the critically panned Space Force.

That show, despite an A-list ensemble including Steve Carell, John Malkovich, and Lisa Kudrow, failed to find its comedic footing.

"I'm starting to feel like maybe The Paper could suffer the same fate," another user commented.

Another added, "Kind of a dumb decision given how a lot of the more successful recent shows do weekly drops," one user said. "Maybe they don't have much confidence in it."

Others zeroed in on the show's promotional materials.

"Why does that guy's head look SO disproportionately huge?" one commenter asked.

Another replied, "Because Domhnall Gleeson's head IS disproportionately huge. I love the guy, but his noggin is giant. Even he's said so."

Despite the criticism, some users came to the actor's defense. "Domhnall Gleeson deserves better," one person wrote.

"Well, that doesn't seem to bode well for their confidence in the show, but I'm still going to give it a shot. It has several people I like in it, and the first season of The Office had its own growing pains. I guess we'll see how it's received."

With the NFL season approaching, viewers speculate that Peacock is attempting to burn off The Paper quickly and avoid competing for attention later in the year.

Peacock has only one other original series officially slated for release in 2025; All Her Fault, a mystery drama starring Sarah Snook, arriving in November.
