More than 800 students across all abilities participated in a series of summer initiatives in Dubai.

Backed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), these programmes were aimed at nurturing lifelong learning, enhancing community engagement, and supporting students of determination.

Launched in July, the programmes offered students hands-on opportunities to gain practical skills while exploring their interests and strengthening their sense of identity.

One of the flagship initiatives, InternDXB, placed students from Dubai’s private schools and universities in internships with leading organisations such as PwC, Strategy&, and the Chalhoub Group. Participants gained exposure to industries including retail, consulting, and auditing.

In a move to ensure inclusivity, the Dubai Club for People of Determination hosted 200 students with determination in a variety of recreational, educational, and sports activities. The fully inclusive setting enabled participants to develop skills while engaging with the wider community.

Meanwhile, the Ferjan Dubai Summer Camp attracted 630 children who took part in workshops and interactive sessions covering arts, sports, entrepreneurship, and cultural activities, many of which were led by young Emiratis.

Notably, these efforts also align with the objectives of the Education 33 strategy. As Dubai enters the new academic year, KHDA emphasized that it’s committed to expanding opportunities that connect students to their communities, support their wellbeing, and empower them to be confident, purposeful, and lifelong learners.

Reem Waleed, Acting Head of Learner Skills Development and Wellbeing at KHDA, said, “Lifelong learning is about more than academics — it’s about empowering students with the confidence, skills, and values they need to thrive in every stage of their lives. The summer initiatives were designed to build creativity, resilience, and inclusion, and we are proud of the impact they have had. KHDA will continue to focus on projects that strengthen students’ personalities, help them discover their potential, and prepare them for the opportunities of the future.”
