National Awards to Teachers 2025: Under the National Teachers Award 2025, 45 outstanding teachers selected from across the country will be honored by President Draupadi Murmu on Teachers' Day (5 September) this year. The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, has released the list of teachers who will be awarded this prestigious award.

The purpose of this award is to recognize teachers who have made significant contributions in the field of education and to inspire other teachers with their work.

From which states are the teachers selected?
The teachers selected for the National Teachers Award 2025 include 33 teachers from Maharashtra and Bihar. Apart from this, 2-2 teachers have been selected from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. The special thing is that this time, 5 teachers from PM Shri Schools have also been selected for this honor. This award will be given to those teachers from different states and union territories of the country who have made a significant contribution to improving the quality of education and the overall development of the students.

The awardees were selected through a rigorous step-by-step selection process conducted by the department, and the process includes district, state, and national level assessments. A total of 45 teachers will be felicitated at the event. The National Awards for Teachers were first introduced in 1958, the guidelines were revised in 2018.
The awardees will be given a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a silver medal and a certificate of appreciation.
