Renault launched the facelifted Kiger a couple of days ago with several updates over the outgoing model. It directly competes with Nissan Magnite as both are the most affordable offerings in the sub4 metre SUV segment. Interestingly, both happen to be platform siblings which are underpinned by the same architecture.
As expected, both are fairly similar but they are also very distinct in many different aspects. Interestingly, the Magnite also received an update fairly recently in December 2024. Let us find how the facelifted Kiger and Magnite are similar and dissimilar to each other.
The Magnite is slightly longer and wider than the Kiger. However, the Kiger is taller than the Magnite. Since both are based on the same platform, they share the exact same wheelbase. Even ground clearance is identical at 205 mm. However, Renault Kiger has the clear advantage of a much larger boot of 405 litres as compared to 336 litres boot space offered by Nissan Magnite.

In terms of features both crossovers come equipped with similar features such as an 8.0inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6speaker Arkamystuned sound system, Biprojector auto LED headlamps, 360degree camera, wireless charger, digital instrument cluster, auto climate control, etc.
Common safety features offered in both Kiger and Magnite include six airbags, ESP, a tyre pressure monitor, ISOFIX mounts, electronic stability control, hill start assist and more. However, Kiger comes with a couple of advantages in the form of ventilated front seats and rainsensing wipers.
Besides underpinnings, the powertrain options of the Kiger facelft and Magnite are exactly the same with identical output figures and choices of transmission. Both models get the option of a CNG powertrain as a retrofitment for a premium of around Rs 80,000 only with the naturally aspirated petrol unit mated to a manual gearbox.
