The film 'Thunderbolts' has emerged as an unexpected success, both in terms of critical acclaim and box office performance, especially considering the recent struggles of Marvel projects. After a successful theatrical run, the movie is now preparing for its release on OTT platforms.

'Thunderbolts' is scheduled to debut on JioHotstar on August 27, 2025, and will be available in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

In their announcement, JioHotstar stated, "Not super. Not heroes. Not giving up. Thunderbolts* The New Avengers streaming 27 August onwards in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, only on JioHotstar."

The film features a talented ensemble cast including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, Wendell Pierce, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

In a previous interview, the director shared insights about the film's narrative, clarifying misconceptions about the plot. He emphasized that the story is not merely about a team assembled for villainous purposes, but rather focuses on character development and relationships.

He elaborated on Yelena's pivotal role, stating, "Yelena is front and center. Her journey and the dynamics with her companions are central to the narrative, reminiscent of films like Ronin or Reservoir Dogs, where trust is a significant issue."

Director Jake Schreier also mentioned the excitement surrounding the film's production, noting the fun of integrating characters into a larger universe. He expressed gratitude for being part of the project and witnessing the characters evolve within a broader context.

'Thunderbolts' has been rebranded as 'The New Avengers', hinting at its role in the future of Marvel's cinematic universe.
