An incident of cruelty against a newly married woman has come to light in the city. It is alleged that her husband heated a knife on a gas stove and stabbed her in several places on her body and beat her.

An incident of brutality has come to light with a newly married woman in the city. It is alleged that her husband heated a knife on a gas stove and burned her body at several places, and beat her. The victim has been identified as Khushboo (resident of Avakachchh), who was married to Dilip, a resident of Anjad in Barwani district, on 2 February 2025.

The victim said that since the marriage, her husband had disliked her and constantly harassed her for dowry. On Sunday, when the dispute escalated, Dilip brutally heated a knife and branded her body. After the incident, Khushboo informed the family, after which the brother immediately reached Anjad and brought his sister to her maternal home.

Investigation of the case started

The family took the victim to Khargone's Maingaon police station and filed a complaint. The police admitted the woman to the district hospital for treatment. The woman ASI of Jaitapur police station reached the hospital and recorded Khushboo's statement.

At present, the police have registered a case and started an investigation. The victim's family says that she was being harassed continuously since her marriage, and now the husband's brutality has crossed all limits.
