According to Dimsum Dailythe hospital, located in Beijing and established in 2012 with an initial investment of 10 million yuan (US$1.4 million), was designed to provide pediatric care, specializing in respiratory and digestive treatments for children. However, the hospital now owes 13.81 million yuan and has been listed for enforcement by the Chaoyang District People’s Court. Li, who serves as the hospital’s legal representative, has been named in the legal proceedings.
The financial struggles of Smile Angel Hospital come as the latest chapter in Li’s ongoing financial difficulties. In a recent livestream, his current wife Haiha Jinxi disclosed the significant financial pressures their family is facing, stemming from a 40 million yuan debt to a failed real estate investment made by Li in 2015. She also shared a video showing the family moving from a villa to a smaller apartment, all while Li was away on business.
In July, a company in which Li holds shares was ordered to repay 1.02 million yuan, adding to his growing financial troubles.
At 54, Li is best known for his prominent roles in popular Chinese television dramas such as “The Legend of the Condor Heroes,” “Laughing in the Wind,” “The Singer,” and “Eternal Moment.” He retired from acting in 2011 to focus on business ventures, but many of these have failed to meet expectations.
Li married Wong in 2005, and they divorced in 2013, sharing a daughter, Li Yan. Li married Haiha in 2022, while Wong has since rekindled her relationship with singer Nicholas Tse.
