PS Plus is back with a fresh offering for Essential subscribers, featuring new additions Stardew Valley and Psychonauts 2.
The Essential tier of the service is set to receive more PS Plus games, but it's not as if we were short on options. PS Plus has been on a roll in recent months, with the PS Plus Extra and Premium August update delivering the likes of Marvel's Spider-Man and the stunning day-one launch of Sword of the Sea; and players on the lower tier weren't left out with the arrival of the PS Plus Essential August drop giving fans Lies of P and Day Z.
It's been a fantastic time to be a subscriber, and that's not even taking into account that Cyberpunk 2077 became part of the service as of the PS Plus Extra and Premium July drop – and there's still more to come with a new and brief hit of titles on the way.
Predictions for the PS Plus Essential games this month have suggested that Lego Horizon Adventures and Viewfinder could make an appearance this month – and as it turns out, they were at least partially correct. So, what has been announced for the PS Plus Essential September games drop? Here's what you need to know.

PS Plus Essential September games revealedPlayStation has unveiled the latest batch of games coming to the Essential tier of the PS Plus subscription service in a new blog post. Here's everything that will be added to your backlog shortly:
These games are set to hit the service on Tuesday, September 2. It's a rare treat that PS4 games take centre stage on the service, but we reckon you'll agree these are worthy titles for it.
There's no denying this makes for a massive month of gaming – naturally, Psychonauts 2 is a legitimate headliner that fans have adored, as it has proven itself to be one of the most inventive platformers out there. However, it doesn't quite measure up to Stardew Valley, ConcernedApe's brilliant masterpiece and one of the most popular indie games ever.
The game has practically become synonymous with the farming sim genre for a good while now, and rightly so – and now gamers have the opportunity to access it for free with a PlayStation Plus subscription at its Essential tier. It's another smash hit from the service. Enjoy it.
