SBI Card has announced that from September 16, 2025, all its existing Card Protection Plan (CPP) customers will automatically shift to the new updated variant. This change has been made to further strengthen the card protection of the customers and give them more benefits.
The company has clearly said that whenever a customer's CPP is renewed, it will be changed to the new variant at the same time. That is, no one will need to apply separately. SBI Card has said that customers will be informed about this change at least 24 hours in advance through SMS and email.
New plans will be cheaper than before
The biggest advantage this time is the reduction in price. The new variants will be cheaper than the old CPP variants. That is, now customers will be able to get more benefits for less money.

What is the Card Protection Plan, and why is it important?
CPP, i.e., Card Protection Plan, is a type of security service that provides immediate help to customers in case of card loss or theft. In this, customers get the facility to block all cards with a single call. Apart from this, it also includes many benefits like SIM blocking, travel ticket assistance, hotel advance, and document help. CPP also protects customers from fraud. For example, if someone misuses the card through PIN-based fraud, phishing, or telephishing, then customers get protection.
New CPP will be available in 3 variants.
SBI Card has launched the new CPP in 3 variants – Classic, Premium, and Platinum.

How will CPP registration be done?
After taking CPP, customers will get a welcome kit, which will contain their unique membership number. It will also have a registration form, which will have to be filled out and sent. If customers want, they can also register their cards and documents by calling the CPP call center.
A driver's license and passport number will be needed
Many times, people need a driver's license or passport number during travel, but they do not have those documents. In such a situation, if the customer has registered this number in CPP, then he can get this detail from the SBI Card executive by just making a call.
Conclusion
This decision of SBI Card will prove beneficial for the customers because now CPP plans will not only be cheaper but will also have facilities like more security and travel help. In today's time, when cases of fraud and card theft are increasing rapidly, protection plans like CPP have become very important for people.
