UPSSSC PET Exam: Why is this exam held?
PET, i.e., Preliminary Eligibility Test (UPSSSC PET), is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh government for Group C government jobs. This is a screening test that makes the candidates eligible for further recruitment processes like the main exam. After passing this exam, on the basis of its score, one can apply for jobs like Lower Subordinate, Junior Assistant, Lekhpal, and Forest Guard. According to the official notification, this time recruitment is to be done for 5,833 posts through this exam.
UPSSSC PET: How many people applied?
This time, a total of 25.31 lakh candidates have registered for the PET, i.e., Preliminary Eligibility Test (UPSSSC PET), which is a record. About 6 lakh students will participate in each shift. Such a large number of applicants clearly shows how much the youth want a government job.
How many papers will there be?
There will be a total of 2 papers in PET. The first paper will be held on September 6 and the second on September 7. The exam will be held on both days from 10 am to 12 noon in which there will be 100-100 objective questions. These papers will be OMR-based, and 1 mark will be given for every correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for the wrong answer.
Strictness on cheating
The DM will keep an eye on the examination to keep it fair and cheating-free. Strict instructions have been given to ensure fairness at every step. 32,259 CCTV cameras have been installed, which will do live monitoring. Also, 2,958 sector and static magistrates and more than 1.64 lakh employees will be deployed. With such arrangements, every student will get equal opportunity.
Full attention on paper and electricity
To bring transparency in the examination, the packets of papers will be opened in front of the candidates so that no one gets suspicious. Also, to avoid power problems during the examination, uninterrupted power supply arrangements have been made. Railways and roadways have also been alerted so that students do not face any problem in commuting.
