Co-founder and MD of NODWIN Gaming, Akshat Rathee, referred to the Guwahati launch as a much-needed chapter for the Northeast. He has emphasised the cultural energy of the area, including classic dances and music and its fondness of comics and games. This was also echoed by the CEO of Comic Con India, Shefali Johnson, who stipulated that it is all about inclusivity and offering authentic experiences to fans throughout the country.
Guwahati has recently become the fastest-growing international travel destination in India, as ranked by the New Horizons ranking of Agoda. The introduction of Comic Con India is likely to make the city even more famous, as it will combine international fandoms with local cultures. The festival is set to be a new cultural icon to the Northeast, uniting fans, creators, and communities under a single roof.
