In a significant operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan apprehended two engineers from the State Agricultural Marketing Board in Baran district on Thursday, recovering ₹1.41 lakh in cash. Officials provided this information.

According to reports, the ACB team conducted a surprise inspection at the Samaspur intersection in Baran based on confidential information. They caught assistant engineer Ankit Sharma and junior engineer Ravikant Meena with the suspicious amount.

Smita Srivastava, Additional Director General of the ACB, revealed that a white bag belonging to Ankit Sharma contained three bundles of ₹500 notes, totaling ₹1,40,000, which included two bundles of ₹50,000 and one bundle of ₹40,000. Additionally, measuring tapes, a measurement book, and a file were found in both officials' bags. Neither officer could provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the seized cash and materials.

Given the dubious nature of the cash's origin, the bureau has confiscated the amount. Interrogations of the implicated officials are ongoing, and it appears that the recovered funds may have been acquired through corrupt practices.
