Lizzie Cundy has fiercely defended Rylan Clark following his rant about immigration on This Morning. The presenter, 36, interrupted the show earlier in the week to issue an honest statement about his views on illegal immigration, admitting that he finds it "absolutely insane" that people who come to England on small boats are greeted with seemingly endless luxuries. Appearing on GB News, Lizzie has now applauded Rylan, who she described as her "best friend", for sharing his honest thoughts on migrants entering the UK illegally.

She said: "I was so proud of him to do that on ITV's This Morning show. It was a news debate, it's about conversations and he had every right to say what he said because it's the majority of what we're all feeling and thinking." The 57-year-old admitted she felt "really upset" about the backlash Rylan faced, pointing out that we "live in a democratic country" with freedom of speech.

She continued: "He was saying how he felt and the backlash he got from the woke lefties was absolutely disgraceful and I was appalled by it and I say well done to Rylan for speaking his mind."

GB News presenter Nana Akua explained that Rylan faced backlash due to inaccuracies in what he was saying, specifically regarding the supposed luxuries migrants received when they are housed in the UK.

"But some have got some of these things," Lizzie hit back. "This just shows that people are getting very frustrated."

went on: "They're actually scared about what's going on in their own communities. Rylan's from Essex, look what's going on in Epping at the minute. Look what happened to that young schoolgirl. There are mums and grandmothers outside protesting because they are fearful for their families and what's going on in their own communities.

It comes after Nigel Farage exploded with fury after the court of appeal overturned a high court ban on housing illegal migrants at the Bell Hotel in Epping.

The bombshell ruling from last week was overturned on Friday morning, after the appeals court saw the government argue that the rights of illegal migrants take precedence over the outrage of locals.

The Reform UK leader fumed: "This country is built on immigration. Legal immigration - a lot of the nurses, the doctors that have saved my mum's life have come over here from other countries. They're living a great life, they're paying into this tax system, they're helping this country thrive.

"I find it absolutely insane that all these people are risking their lives coming across the Channel. And when they get here, it does seem, and I think this is why a lot of Labour voters as well are saying there's something wrong, it feels like, 'Welcome, come on in'. That's the narrative we're being fed."
