Bikaner | A new good news has come for the farmers of the country! The central and state governments are providing up to 40% subsidy for farming, horticulture and oil processing. Several schemes have been implemented to promote crops like peanuts, mustard, dates, amla and orange.
The central and state governments are running various schemes to encourage agriculture and horticulture. Under these schemes, farmers are getting a grant of up to 40%. Especially vegetables, oilseeds, gardening and high-tech farmers are being encouraged.
However, many farmers are unable to take advantage of these schemes due to lack of information, affecting their crop and income. The Agriculture Department has appealed to the farmers to get information about these schemes and take full advantage of it.
These schemes are being implemented effectively in Bikaner district. According to Mukesh Gehlot, Assistant Director (Horticulture) of the Department of Agriculture, oilseed crops like groundnut and mustard are being promoted under the National Mission for Oilseeds and Oil Palm.
If a farmer set up a 10 -tonne oil processing unit, he can get a subsidy of up to Rs 9.90 lakh. This scheme will not only increase crop production, but will also encourage indigenous oil production.
Special efforts are being made to promote cotton cultivation in Bikaner. Along with this, rough grains like jowar, millet and ragi are being given priority under Sri Ann Yojana. The Panch Gaurav Yojana has also included the cultivation of Moth, so that the income of farmers can increase.
Many schemes are going on to promote horticulture. Date cultivation under the ARKVV scheme is encouraging. Under the National Horticulture Mission, 40% subsidy is being given at a cost of Rs 75,000 on crops like Amla, Plum and Papaya.
The cultivation of orange, kinnu, lemon and pomegranate is also getting 40% grant at a cost of Rs 1.25 lakh. 40% subsidy is being given at the cost of up to Rs 2 lakh on the establishment of high-denture gardens, which will promote modern farming.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme, farmers can benefit from 2% on kharif crops, 1.5% premium on Rabi crops and 5% on commercial crops. This scheme helps protect crops from natural disasters.
In addition, 120 clusters have been created in Bikaner under the National Natural Farming Mission, of which 75-75 farmers are being given natural farming training and benefits. This mission is promoting soil health and healthy crop production.
