Significant Meetings at the SCO Summit

Tianjin: During the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit held in Tianjin, China, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in discussions with Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedow, addressing a range of topics.


In a post shared on X, PM Modi remarked, "I exchanged views on various issues with Mr. Serdar Berdimuhamedow, President of Turkmenistan during our meeting in Tianjin this evening."


Additionally, he met with Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, emphasizing the strong partnership between their nations.


PM Modi noted, "I met President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan. Our countries are united by a dynamic partnership that is expanding across cultural, economic, and interpersonal connections," in another post on X.


The Prime Minister also described his conversation with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov as "very productive," highlighting the robust partnership between their nations.


He stated, "A very productive conversation with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Tianjin. Our countries share a strong partnership, and we will continue to enhance our developmental cooperation," in a post on X.


PM Modi expressed his pleasure in meeting Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, President of Lao PDR, and remarked on the benefits of closer ties in trade and culture.


He also held discussions with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, noting the warm and growing relationship between their countries.


In talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, PM Modi conveyed India's eagerness to strengthen ties in defense, trade, green energy, and other sectors.


He met with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, acknowledging the progress in the friendship between their nations.


During his interactions with Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, PM Modi highlighted their collaborative efforts in various key sectors.


He also met with Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon, expressing satisfaction over the increasing trade and cultural connections.


In discussions with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, PM Modi expressed optimism about the future opportunities for India and Belarus.


Furthermore, he met with Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, emphasizing the benefits of India's developmental cooperation for both nations.


PM Modi also engaged with Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, referring to their countries' ties as "deep-rooted and very special."


Earlier, upon his arrival at the SCO Summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, warmly welcomed PM Modi at the official reception for Heads of State and Heads of Government.
