WhatsApp has released an update for the security of Apple users. This update has been released specifically for iOS and Mac app users. The company said that hackers were spying on users by taking advantage of the flaws in the app. WhatsApp has released two security patches fixing the bugs affecting Apple users. The bugs that the company has fixed include CVE-2025-55177 and CVE-2025-43300.

Apple had already alerted users about these bugs. Apple had said that hackers had attacked the devices of certain people using these bugs. These days, it is being reported that hackers were hacking users' devices through a zero-click exploit technique. In this, hackers can access the device without the user tapping on the link or opening the file.

The bug was discovered in May.

Amnesty International's Security Lab has shared a post on its social media platform X (formerly Twitter). It said that this bug was active since the end of May, in which hackers were taking advantage of it to steal data from their target users' iPhone and MacBooks. Security Lab chief Donncha O Cearbhail named it an "advanced spyware campaign" and said that hackers are taking advantage of it to steal data.

Meta spokesperson Margarita Franklin told TechCrunch that they came to know about this bug only a few weeks ago. He said that at least 200 users have been affected by this bug. Meta has not yet shared information about who was involved in this attack. Security experts say that due to these two bugs, hackers could steal data directly from Apple devices.

What is Zero-click Exploits?

Zero-click exploit bugs are very dangerous. They provide almost no security to the users. Due to this bug, any device can be easily hacked. To stay safe from any bugs, users should install the latest software on their devices.
