According to Google, a cyber criminal group called ‘Shinyhunters’ has taken advantage of this data leak. They are now targeting GMAL users with the help of a social engineering attack. In this, hackers are trying to get their password from users, pretending to be IT support staff. In some cases, he has also succeeded in infiltrating into the account.
Google has made it clear that it will no longer be ignored by this danger. In addition to changing the password, the company advises to turn on ‘Two-Factor Authentication’ (2FA). Even if your password is hacked, no one can access your account without the OTP on your phone. In addition, it is also urged to pay immediate attention to any suspicious movement on your account. On August 8, Google informed all users affected by this cyber attack via email.
To change the password on the computer: 1. Go to your Google Account. 2. Click on ‘Security’ on the left side. 3. Select ‘Password’ in the ‘Signing in to Google’ section. 4. Add a new password by signing once again. 5. Complete the process by clicking on ‘Change Password’.
To change the password from the Android phone: 1. Go to the ‘Settings’ of your phone. 2. Select ‘Google> Manage Your Google Account’. 3. Go to the ‘SECURITY’ tab at the top. 4. Select ‘Password’ in ‘Signing in to Google’. 5. Re -sign by signing a new password. 6. Tap on ‘Change Password’.
To change the password on iPhone or iPad: 1. Open the Gmail app and tap your profile photo on the top. 2. Select ‘Manage Your Google Account’. 3. Go to the ‘Personal IFO’ section. 4. Tap on ‘Password’. 5. Re -sign by signing a new password. 6. Complete the process by taping on ‘Change Password’.
