Rajasthan

In Rajasthan, September 2 will be recognized as a restricted holiday due to Teja Dashmi and Ramdev Jayanti, resulting in school closures. However, it is advisable for students and parents to verify updates from their respective school authorities.


Delhi

Delhi-NCR experienced heavy rainfall on Monday evening, leading to widespread power outages. The education ministry may announce a school holiday in certain areas of the national capital for September 2. Until an official announcement is made, schools are expected to operate normally.


Gurugram

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Gurugram. The District Disaster Management Authority has advised that all corporate offices and private institutions in the district should allow employees to work from home, and schools are recommended to conduct online classes on September 2, 2025.


Jammu and Kashmir

The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has confirmed that all government and private schools in the Jammu Division will be closed on Tuesday, September 2, due to heavy rainfall and weather warnings from the IMD.


Punjab

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced on Monday that all government and private schools in Punjab will remain closed until September 3, 2025, due to the ongoing flood situation in the state.


West Bengal

The Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall in the coastal districts of West Bengal until Tuesday. An alert has been issued for South and North 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Kolkata, and Howrah. Consequently, schools in the affected areas may be closed on September 2, pending official confirmation.


Uttarakhand

In Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, all Anganwadi centers and schools (Class 1 to 12) will be closed on September 2 due to the impact of heavy rain and landslides.


Kerala

Schools in Kerala will remain closed until September 7 for the traditional 10-day Onam break, with classes set to resume on September 8, 2025.


Himachal Pradesh

Following multiple landslides caused by heavy rainfall, schools in several districts of Himachal Pradesh, including Shimla, Solan, and Bilaspur, will be closed on September 2.
