After the JEE Advanced 2025 result, it is now clear that IIT Bombay has the most special place in the hearts of top rankers across the country. The JIC report has revealed that this time, most of the candidates who got the top rank made IIT Bombay their first choice for admission.
According to the report, out of the top 100 rankers of this year, 73 candidates have chosen IIT Bombay. At the same time, 19 toppers chose IIT Delhi and 6 chose IIT Madras. That is, about three-fourths of the students who got the top rank this year are going to be a part of IIT Bombay.
It is also clear in the JIC report that no other IIT got a place in the top 100 rankers. This figure shows that the popularity of IIT Bombay for the most meritorious students of the country is constantly increasing.
Demand for seats also increased
Another special thing has come to light in the report. In most IITs, more candidates have been given admission than the number of seats. For example, IIT Bombay has a total of 1360 seats, but till the last round, admission was done on 1364 seats here. This trend shows how eager the students are to study in IIT Bombay.
Boys ahead, number of girls less
The JIC report also mentions the gender ratio. This year, a total of 14,524 seats have been secured by boys, while women took admission on 3,664 seats. This difference shows that the number of girls is still less, although the participation of female candidates is gradually increasing compared to the last few years.
