Dehradun. Heli Services in Kedarnath will now get the support of HI-Tech Technology of ISRO. From live location tracking to the real-time information of the weather and the area, the pilot and control room will be updated every moment. This exercise of ‘Digital Kavach’ will make both the safety and pilot flight more smart and safe than before.
The Indian Space Research Organization-Israo has agreed to cooperate to make the heli services safe in Kedarnath. According to Civil Aviation Secretary Sachin Kurve, a team of ISRO experts will come to Uttarakhand in this fortnight. After the Haley accident in Kedarnath on June 15 this year, the government had decided to seek the help of ISRO to prepare a better system for heli services.
The state government has requested to prepare such a module for Kedarghati, the live location trekking of the helicopter continues. ISRO will develop a digital elevation model (DEM), which will be associated with the GPS system. With this, not only will the news of the live location of the helicopter be available in control. Rather, the pilot sitting in the helicopter will also get information about its surrounding area, weather. This will also make it easier for the pilot to blow the helicopter safely.
Civil Aviation Secretary Sachin Kurve confirmed this. He informed that ISRO experts will test their equipment in Uttarakhand. His visit was earlier proposed in August itself, but the test was postponed due to Dharali and other disasters that came after that. Now this fortnight is scheduled to come.
