During this challenging period marked by natural calamities, the Punjab government, led by the Aam Aadmi Party, has set a remarkable standard of service and commitment. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's flood relief initiative exemplifies true leadership, as he stands alongside the affected communities during their time of need.

To date, 15,688 individuals have been rescued and relocated to safer areas, with 7,144 people currently residing in relief camps. The floods have affected over 256,000 residents across 1,044 villages, prompting the government to implement immediate relief and rehabilitation efforts for those impacted. CM Mann personally visited Gurdaspur, Sultanpur Lodhi, and Pathankot to evaluate the situation on the ground, assuring families that assistance would be provided for their losses and that normalcy would soon return.

What was particularly noteworthy was CM Mann's decision to engage directly with the communities rather than relying solely on aerial surveys. He walked through villages, listened to residents' concerns, and sought immediate solutions, embodying his 'People First' approach and fostering hope among those affected.

The involvement of ministers further enhanced the campaign's impact. Food & Supplies Minister Lalchand Kataruchak traveled across the Bhua constituency on a motorcycle, actively assisting residents and monitoring relief efforts. Revenue Minister Hardeep Mundian visited homes in Sultanpur Lodhi to address local issues. Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh oversaw the dispatch of relief trucks, while Education Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO joined villagers in Patti, Tarn Taran, to help with recovery efforts. In Faizilka, Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur distributed relief supplies in Noorshah village, while Panchayat Minister Tarunpreet Sond and Cabinet Minister Laljit Bhullar visited various districts to deliver aid personally.

In a historic move, all ministers in Punjab contributed their entire monthly salaries to the relief fund. This gesture, from the Chief Minister down to every minister, sends a powerful message: the AAP government is committed to action, not just rhetoric.

The relief initiative not only provided essential supplies but also uplifted the spirits of the community. Over 3,200 ration kits, 17,000 food packets, and 45,000 water bottles were distributed. Additionally, 700 quintals of dry fodder and 1,450 feed bags were made available for livestock. Innovative strategies, including a 24/7 helpline, digital tracking of supplies, community kitchens, veterinary health camps, and counseling for children, showcased the government's dedication to addressing every need.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized that the safety and welfare of the people are the government's top priorities. He stated that the focus has been on humanitarian service, transcending political boundaries. He assured that all affected families would receive compensation within 15 days via Direct Benefit Transfer, with damage assessments already underway.
