Kathmandu The Nepal government has launched the tracking system to monitor the activities of foreign nationals in Nepal. This system will prove to be effective in monitoring foreign nationals living for more than the visa period from foreign nationals being involved in illegal activities like conversion, manavaskarkari. The immigration department, which is under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is going to introduce the tracking system to monitor all foreign nationals coming to Nepal. For this, after coming to the airport by the aircraft, all foreign nationals will have to download an app and register themselves. The Department of Awaaz is going to start it from Kathmandu first.
The Director General of the Department of Angry, Ramchandra Tiwari, has announced on Wednesday that it will implement the registration and tracking system (FNRTS) of foreign nationals from September 17, 2025 to monitor the entry, stay and activities of foreigners in Nepal. According to Director General Tiwari, this system will be implemented in stages. He said that in the first phase, it will be implemented in all star hotels within Kathmandu from 17 September. In the second phase, starting on November 16, this system will be expanded to all star hotels, airlines, tourism and travel agencies, money exchange.
Director General Ramchandra Tiwari said that by the end of this year, gradually other hotels, guest houses and service providers will be extended. He said that this system is designed to maintain the records of foreign nationals, increase their safety, make search and rescue operations facilitated in emergency situations and ensure better coordination with security agencies and tourism stakeholders.
Along with this, this system is going to prove to be effective to monitor foreign nationals who have been involved in unconstitutional work like involvement in Nepal, including involvement in Nepal, conversion such as conversion, and after the visa period ends. Public and private institutions serving foreign nationals are required to integrate with this system.
