Mahindra has once again proved that innovation and customer-focused design are key to success in India’s fast-growing EV market. The company’s newly launched electric SUVs, BE6 and XEV 9e, have recorded 20,000 unit sales in just five months. Collectively, these SUVs have already clocked over 9.3 crore kilometers on Indian roads, highlighting the growing trust of Indian buyers in electric mobility.

Long Range and Fast Charging

Built on the INGLO platform, the BE6 and XEV 9e offer an impressive real-world range of 500+ km. With DC fast charging, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes, making long highway journeys practical and convenient.

Comfort and Space

Both SUVs come with a flat-floor design and a long wheelbase, ensuring plenty of cabin room and comfort for families. A large boot space takes care of luggage on long trips, while the 5-link independent rear suspension, tuned specifically for Indian roads, makes rides smoother and more stable.

Power and Performance

Mahindra has packed these SUVs with strong performance:

  • 282 bhp power, 380 Nm torque

  • 0-100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds

  • Top speed: 200+ km/h

In addition, they feature modern tech such as Level 2+ ADAS, triple-screen cockpit, a 16-speaker audio system, and self-parking support.

Running Cost: Light on the Pocket

One of the biggest attractions of BE6 and XEV 9e is their low running cost.

  • Average cost: ₹1.1–₹1.8 per km (much lower than petrol/diesel SUVs)

  • Home charging cost estimate: about ₹1.06 per km (₹36,000 annually for ~60 km daily driving)

  • Potential savings: up to ₹12 lakh in 5 years compared to ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles due to lower fuel, servicing costs, and government EV subsidies.

Why It Matters

These SUVs strike the right balance of range, comfort, power, and affordability, making them attractive alternatives to conventional vehicles. The overwhelming sales response proves that Indian buyers are ready to embrace EVs when performance and practicality meet affordability.
