Atif Aslam recently opened up in an in-depth interview with an Indian journalist, where he shared heartfelt memories of his musical journey in India and expressed gratitude for the fame he achieved through Bollywood.

During the interview, Atif Aslam acknowledged the immense impact that working in India had on his career. “By the grace of God, I was not only given the opportunity to work in India, but I also earned fame there and became a star,” he said. The singer expressed deep appreciation for the love and recognition he received from Indian audiences, describing it as a significant chapter in his artistic journey.

Aslam also spoke highly of his collaborations with Indian music composers and singers, particularly Shekhar Ravjiani and Mithoon. He recalled fond memories of working with them, praising Shekhar for his understanding of both poetry and music, and reminiscing about his early collaborations with Mithoon when both artists were just beginning to rise in their respective careers. “We started out around the same time, and we grew in our journeys together,” he said.

The singer shared special memories of singing playback for Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, revealing that he had performed several songs picturized on the actor. He expressed joy in being part of those iconic projects and noted how those songs remain close to his heart.

Despite current political tensions between India and Pakistan, which prevent him from visiting India or working in the Bollywood industry, Atif conveyed his affection for his Indian fans and colleagues. “I miss them a lot,” he admitted, adding that his time in India gave him not just fame but friendships and cherished memories.

Responding to a question about the entertainment industries of both countries, Atif candidly stated that Bollywood is far larger than Pakistan’s showbiz industry. “There is no real concept of superstars in Pakistan like there is in India,” he noted. He acknowledged that gaining recognition in such a massive and competitive industry was nothing short of a divine blessing.

Aslam concluded by reflecting on his Bollywood days with pride and gratitude, calling them some of the brightest moments of his career. “God’s mercy not only gave me the chance to work there but elevated me to the heights of fame. I became a shining star,” he said.
