In a heartbreaking incident in Korba district, Chhattisgarh, three children lost their lives after drowning in a pond. This unfortunate event was reported by police officials on Friday.

The victims have been identified as 9-year-old Yuvraj Singh, 13-year-old Akash Lakra, and 12-year-old Prince Jagat. According to authorities, the children had gone swimming in the pond located in Risdi village, within the Civil Lines police station area, around 4 PM on Friday.

While swimming, the trio ventured into deeper waters and tragically drowned. Local residents, upon learning of the incident, rushed to rescue the children from the pond and transported them to the district hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead.

It was revealed that the deceased children's father is employed in the police department and resides in the police line residential colony. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.

Following the incident, Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari and other senior officials visited the hospital to meet with the grieving families. Authorities confirmed that a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
