New Delhi: Aryna Sabalenka successfully defended her U.S. Open title as she defeated Americas eighth seed Amanda Anisimova 6-3 7-6(3) in the womens singles final on Saturday September 6 2025 cementing her position as the queen of hardcourt tennis. The Belarusian has reached every hardcourt major final since 2022 and her victory in U.S. Open 2025 raises her Grand Slam tally to four. She also became the first woman to win back-to-back U.S. Open titles since Serena Williams who won three consecutive titles from 2012 to 2014. After Sabalenka gave her a break with a poor smash in the tenth game Anisimova was still in the running but she lost to Sabalenkas strength in the tiebreak where the Belarusian easily won.
