Two Lawyers Appointed as Judges of Allahabad High Court

New Appointments in Allahabad High Court

The Allahabad High Court has welcomed two new judges, as announced by Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Saturday. The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the appointments of Amitabh Kumar Rai and Rajiv Lochan Shukla during a meeting held on March 25 of this year.


In a post on social media platform 'X', Meghwal stated, 'The President, after consulting with the Chief Justice of India and exercising the powers conferred by the Constitution of India, has appointed Amitabh Kumar Rai and Rajiv Lochan Shukla as judges of the Allahabad High Court.'


Currently, the Allahabad High Court has a sanctioned strength of 160 judges, with 84 judges already in position. With the addition of Rai and Shukla, the total number of judges in the Allahabad High Court will rise to 86.
