Renowned Pakistani playwright and poet Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has responded to criticism of his dramas in a recent conversation on a YouTube channel. He said that some people target all of his projects without any reason. Among those he mentioned were Nadia Khan, Atiqa Odho, and Marina Khan.

While speaking about Nadia Khan, Qamar said that she has no connection with acting. He claimed that she does not have command over Urdu or English. He added that he never thought about working with her. In contrast, he said he has considered working with Atiqa Odho and Marina Khan. He pointed out that their Urdu is weak but insisted that Pakistani dramas are made in pure Urdu. According to him, actors must learn the language if they want to perform in such projects.

Talking further, he said that he has never worked with Atiqa Odho or Marina Khan. He admitted that this makes their criticism of him valid. He expressed hope that once they improve their command of Urdu, he would like to work with them. He acknowledged both as senior actresses who have been part of the industry for decades.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar also recalled watching one of Atiqa Odho’s dramas. He believed it was either Dasht or Nijat, which highlighted the issue of child labour. About Marina Khan, he said he only watched her famous dramas Tanhaiyan and Dhoop Kinarey. He added that he has not seen any of her work since then. However, he expressed his wish that one day she might agree to work with him.
