David Mitchell and Robert Webb have finally reunited for a brand new Channel 4 sketch show titled Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping. The iconic comedy duo has returned to screens after 15 years for a hilarious six-part series that features guest appearances from other established and rising comedy stars, including Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin, and Krystal Evans. Throughout the sketch show, the Peep Show icons parody key moments in media, including Prince Andrew's 2019 bombshell interview.

It also has never-before-seen spoofs of everyday moments while providing a thrilling throwback for long-time fans of their 2006 series, That Mitchell and Webb Look, but with a fresh group of younger co-stars. Ahead of the show's premieres, the Daily Express spoke to Kiell Smith-Bynoe and Krystal Evans about their starring roles and the challenges of navigating comedy during the era of cancel culture. The role is a huge boost for American comic Krystal, who first embarked on a career in comedy at 30, and starred on the sitcom, Scot Squad. She said: "I think it's not actually as hard as people maybe make it out to be to not punch down and not be offensive.

"I think it helps when, I suppose, you've got a body of work behind you, like Mitchell and Webb, like people probably know that, they are coming, hopefully from the right place.

"For me, as a comedian, there's such a huge array of a joke that could be considered bullying versus a joke that could be considered highlighting an issue or something."

Speaking about her jokes, Krystal explained: "Like when I make fun of stuff I've been through in the past and stuff, it actually feels kind of comforting to me to make fun of something it's almost like you're taking the power back from that thing.

"I think it's really helpful, especially with Mitchell and Webb there were many different kinds of people in the writer's room as well. And I think one of the key things is literally just involving the people that you're maybe talking about, it's as simple as that."

Kiell, who came from humble beginnings and launched his career filming YouTube skits, has since featured on BBC's Ghosts, Stath Lets Flats, Task Master, and even presented The Great British Sewing Bee.

During the exclusive interview with the Daily Express, Kiell also weighed in and agreed: "That's a great point using voices that are in the room or a community or just asking people that you trust, and if you feel that unsure about it, you probably shouldn't go there.

"But also, I think if something is that funny and if it's done in the right way, I think any topic could be spoken about in the right way.

"I don't think there's anything that's completely off limits as long as it's spoken about with nuance and understanding." To which Krystal added: "Also, just because one person got offended by it, that doesn't mean that everybody is going to be offended."
