UPPSC Vacancy 2025: The application process is going on for a total of 2,769 posts of Assistant Professor and Lecturer in UP. This includes 1,253 posts of Assistant Professor and 1,516 posts of Lecturer/Lecturer. Applications for lecturer posts have started from August 12, while applications for Assistant Professor are open from September 4. Eligible candidates can apply before the deadline on the official website of the commission uppsc.up.nic.in.
UPPSC Assistant Professor Vacancy: Recruitment for 1,253 posts of Assistant Professor
The application process for the posts of Assistant Professor in the state's government colleges will continue till October 6, 2025. After this, the correction window will remain open till October 13.
Candidates are required to obtain a One-Time Registration (OTR) number before applying. Applications without OTR will not be accepted. According to the age limit, the candidate should be between 21 years and a maximum of 40 years for selection on July 1, 2025. Disabled candidates will be given relaxation in the age limit as per the rules.
Selection of Assistant Professor: Pre, Mains, and Interview
The process of selection of Assistant Professor in government colleges will now be in three stages - Preliminary Examination (Prelims), Mains Examination (Mains), and Interview.
Earlier this selection was done only based on interview marks, while before the interview, a screening test was conducted for the candidates. Now the Commission has implemented the written examination system to increase transparency. The final selection of the candidates will be done as per the merit list based on the marks obtained in the written examination and interview.
Pay Scale and Application Fee
The pay scale for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professor is Level-10. The minimum salary is Rs 57,700 and the maximum salary is Rs 1,82,400. This pay scale is as per UGC AGP. Unreserved/OBC/EWS category applicants will have to pay a fee of Rs 125, Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST category applicants will have to pay Rs 65, and Divyang candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 25.
Important Instructions
Date of Birth Certificate: The date of birth of the candidate will be valid only as per the High School Certificate. It is mandatory to attach this certificate with the application. No other certificate will be accepted.
Educational Qualification Certificate: Candidates must attach self-attested copies of their qualification certificates and mark sheets with the main examination application form. If it is not attached, the application will be rejected.
