Which exam is required to become an officer in Pakistan?
Like India, Pakistan also has a civil service exam. But this exam is called CSS, whose full name is Central Superior Services. This exam is conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) just like the UPSC of India. In Pakistan, there is the FPSC instead of UPSC. What is CSS exam?
Young people in Pakistan who want to become officers like IAS or IPS have to give the CSS exam conducted every year. This exam is also considered very difficult, just like the UPSC exam in India. This exam is conducted every year through FPSC. The age limit to appear in it is 21 to 30 years. The candidate is allowed to give this exam a maximum of three times. The CSS exam is quite difficult. In 2019, a total of 14,521 candidates appeared for the CSS exam in Pakistan, out of which only 214 candidates were able to pass. This figure clearly shows that like India, the civil service examination in Pakistan is also tough and challenging.
