Aprilia, in a bid to celebrate 10 years in MotoGP, has launched a limited edition motorcycle — Aprilia RSV4 XGP. Inspired by the MotoGP motorcycle, the trackonly Aprilia RSV4 XGP will be an ultraexclusive model, limited to just 30 units. Here are more details on what makes the Aprilia RSV4 XGP truly special.
As with most limited edition models, the Aprilia RSV4 XGP is completely bespoke and is the closest one can get to riding the actual MotoGP machine. The Aprilia RSV4 XGP gets wings near the heel and tail section, making it the first factory motorcycle to get them apart from the race bikes.
The motorcycle also gets exclusive racespec hardware such as Öhlins suspension, Brembo GP4 brakes, Marchesini magnesium wheels, and Pirelli slick tyres. That said, the company will also throw in accessories such as tyre warmers, stands, a bike cover, and even a Yashi laptop loaded with ECU management software — How cool is that!
The motorcycle gets a ton of carbon fibre bits, such as the fairing and structural carbon seat support. Aprilia says that the aero on the motorcycle is designed to offer better stability on the track. All examples of the Aprilia RSV4 XGP will get the RSGP25 livery.
In terms of engine specifications, the Aprilia RSV4 XGP is powered by a 1,099cc, liquidcooled V4 engine that makes 238 bhp. The motorcycle gets a dry clutch, highperformance airbox, titanium exhaust, and an APX electronic system with full data acquisition and GPS. All this is packaged in a motorcycle that weighs just 165 kg, making it a potent track weapon.
For those interested in India, there is some bad news. The trackonly Aprilia RSV4 XGP will go on sale in Europe only, and the chances that the motorcycle will come to India are not just highly unlikely, but impossible. In Europe, the Aprilia RSV4 XGP costs €90,000 (Rs 93.07 lakh), excluding VAT.
However, for the money paid, one gets an exclusive handover experience at Aprilia’s racing facility in Noale, Italy, making it not only a special occasion, but also making the Aprilia RSV4 XGP a collector’s item.
