Produced by Dulquer Salmaan and directed by Dominic Arun, the superhero fantasy film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra starring filmmaker Priyadarshan’s daughter Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen continues its dream run at the box office.

In just six days, it became the top female-led south Indian grosser at the worldwide box office and now the film has created yet another record.

Also starring Tovino Thomas, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has hit a double century at the worldwide box office in just 13 days. It has so far made Rs 202 crore.

It is now only the fourth film in the history of Malayalam cinema to make over Rs 200 crore at the global box office.

The other three films in the Rs 200 crore club include Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2: Empuraan (Rs 268 crore), Soubin Shahir’s Manjummel Boys (Rs 242.30 crore) and Mohanlal’s Thudarum (Rs 235.30 crore).

In India, the film has made around Rs 100 crore in 12 days out of which Rs 68 crore came from Kerala alone and the remaining amount from the rest of India.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is currently the ninth biggest grosser in Kerala and is expected to make it to at least top three if not the top by the end of its run.

The only film to hit over Rs 100 crore in Kerala is Mohanlal’s Thudaram and Lokah may become the second on the list.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is the first film in the planned 5-film fantasy universe by Dominic Arun.

While Lokah Chapter 1 was about Chandra, Chapter 2 will focus on Chathan played by Tovino Thomas. The sequel will feature Tovino as Chathan, the goblin and his 389 siblings as teased in the post credit scene of part one.
