A viral prophecy is circulating online claiming that the Second Coming of Jesus will take place on September 23–24, 2025. South African pastor Joshua Mhlakela shared a YouTube video stating that Jesus appeared to him in a vision and revealed the exact date of his return. According to Mhlakela, the event will mark the Rapture — a moment in Christian belief when believers are taken to Heaven while non-believers remain on Earth.

The dates coincide with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish Feast of Trumpets, which many Christians associate with the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Mhlakela warned viewers that “the rapture is upon us, whether you are ready or not,” urging people to prepare spiritually. His video has reportedly gained hundreds of thousands of views, fueling online discussions and speculation.

Christian teachings describe the Rapture as the resurrection of believers, followed by their ascension to meet Christ “in the clouds” as referenced in 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association explains that this is followed by the Second Coming, where Jesus will defeat evil and reign for 1,000 years on Earth.

Biblical passages like 1 Corinthians 15:51–52 describe this transformation happening “in the twinkling of an eye” with the sound of the final trumpet. After a seven-year tribulation period, Christians believe Christ will return with those who were raptured to establish his kingdom on Earth.
