Mumbai: In a major development in the Tata Group TV Narendran who is currently serving as global CEO and MD of Tata Steel is expected to join the Tata Sons board. He is likely to be inducted into the board as a representative of the group The Economic Times reported citing senior executives familiar with the matter. Notably the Tata Trusts Chairman and Director of Tata Sons also holds the position of Chairman of Tata Steel. Did Narendra Meet N Chandrasekaran Before The Announcement? According to the ET report the 60-year-old recently held a meeting with Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran at Bombay House to discuss the potential appointment. Potential Entry Amid Multiple Exits It is worth mentioning that TV Narendran is expected to join the Tata Sons when the board is witnessing several exits. Recently former CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Ralf Speth resigned due to his age. Speth who turned 70 recently was a part of the board since October 2016. In April this year Leo Puri stepped down from his position. He was serving as an independent director. After turning 70 Ajay Piramal also vacated his position in August. The company has witnessed three big resignation that also created three major vacancies. The Tata Sons board includes executive non-executive and independent directors.
