1 bowl washed urad dal, 2 tomatoes, 1 inch tall chopped ginger, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, 2 tablespoons green coriander, 2 tablespoons desi ghee, taste salt, 1 pinch of asafetida, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp cumin.
During Shraddha, first wash the lentils thoroughly to make urad dal for enjoyment. Then put it in a cooker with chopped ginger and tomatoes. After this, add turmeric, salt and water as required. Close the cooker and place it on the gas and cook till 4 whistles. When the whistle of the cooker is over, turn off the gas and let the pressure release automatically.
