On September 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a one-day visit to Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. During his trip to Varanasi, he met with his Mauritian counterpart, Pravind Jugnauth. The two leaders engaged in bilateral discussions. Following this, Modi is scheduled to conduct an aerial survey of the flood-affected regions in Uttarakhand. According to an official statement, the discussions between Modi and Jugnauth will focus on significant aspects of bilateral cooperation, particularly emphasizing development partnerships and capacity building.

Expressing his pride, Prime Minister Modi stated that it is an honor to welcome his Mauritian counterparts to his parliamentary constituency. He highlighted that Varanasi has symbolized India's civilization and cultural essence since ancient times. Modi noted that Indian culture and values have deeply influenced the lifestyle in Mauritius, akin to the continuous flow of the Ganges in Varanasi, which enriches the Mauritian identity. He emphasized that welcoming the Mauritian delegation in Varanasi is not merely a formality but a spiritual reunion, asserting that India and Mauritius share a bond akin to family.
