Apple has unveiled the third generation of its premium earbuds, the AirPods Pro 3, introducing a slate of upgrades that set a new benchmark for personal audio. The highlight of the latest model is its enhanced active noise cancellation (ANC), now twice as effective as the previous version, delivering a significantly quieter listening experience. The earbuds also come with foam-infused ear tips and five different sizes, ensuring a more secure and comfortable fit, particularly during workouts and daily commutes.
The AirPods Pro 3 incorporate Apple’s latest intelligence features, most notably live translation capabilities. With this addition, users can engage in real-time conversations across languages, making the earbuds a powerful tool for global travellers and professionals alike. Apple has also improved sweat and moisture resistance, with the earbuds now rated IP57 for dust and water protection, adding to their durability.
Sound quality has been elevated with richer bass and improved audio performance, alongside the world’s best active noise cancellation, according to Apple. The AirPods Pro 3 also introduce health-focused innovations, such as a heart rate sensor, while supporting hearing aid functionality with dedicated hearing tests and protection modes. Battery life has been optimised too, offering up to 8 hours of playback with ANC enabled and 10 hours in transparency mode when used with hearing aid functions.
Sustainability also plays a part in the design, with 65% recycled plastic used in the charging case. Apple emphasised that these are the best-fitting AirPods yet, aimed at blending lifestyle, health, and technology into one seamless experience.
The AirPods Pro 3 will be available starting September 19, Apple executive Kate confirmed, positioning the launch just ahead of the festive shopping season.
