Actor, director, and producer Yasir Nawaz recently made a candid appearance on the show Gupshup with vasay chaudhrywhere he shared humorous yet honest insights into his personal and professional life — especially his relationship with wife and morning show host Nida Yasir.

Yasir revealed that Nida is extremely sensitive about the topic of second marriages. “She doesn’t tolerate even a joke about it,” he said. “If someone brings it up in a show or conversation, she gets upset immediately.”

Recalling a particular incident, Yasir shared that the couple was once invited to a show hosted by the late Aamir Liaquat. Before going on stage, Nida sternly warned him not to mention anything about second marriage. “She twisted my hand and said, ‘If you say anything like that, I’ll walk off the set.’” Yasir admitted he was so nervous after that, he spent most of the show watching Nida’s expressions instead of focusing on Aamir Liaquat.

Yasir also spoke about his physical transformation and the impact it had on his acting career. He mentioned that earlier, due to his weight, he was only offered roles that portrayed bulky or food-loving characters. However, after losing weight through a strict routine — including two hours of gym in the morning and evening walks — he now gets more diverse roles and better opportunities.

In a light-hearted moment, Yasir joked, “Even hearing the names of dishes like paratha or paye makes me feel like I’m gaining weight!”

He also revealed that even after years of marriage, Nida still gets annoyed if another woman compliments him.

Yasir Nawaz and Nida Yasir, who tied the knot in 2002, have three children together and remain one of Pakistan’s most well-known celebrity couples.
