Filmmaker Karan Johar recently joined an interesting talk around the hit series 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' (TSITP). The show, which is based on Jenny Han ’s popular novels, received praise even from the Indian audience.

And in true Karan Johar style, he couldn’t resist pointing out a playful comparison between the coming-of-age romance and his 2012 Bollywood blockbuster ' Student of the Year .'

Taking to his Instagram Stories, Johar wrote, “Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah? It’s Team Rohan or Team Abhimanyu! #WeWereHereFirst #SummerShanayaTurnedPretty.”

Karan Johar reminded fans that Indian audiences had already lived through their own version of this love triangle. While Han’s show explores the conflict between two brothers in love with the same girl, Karan Johar’s film was about two best friends vying for Shanaya, played by Alia Bhatt .

Fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty won’t have to wait long for the conclusion of Season 3. The finale episode (Episode 11) will drop on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 3:00 a.m. ET / 12:00 a.m. PT on Prime Video, following its regular weekly schedule.

What to expect from the finale

While the makers haven’t revealed the official runtime of the finale, viewers are anticipating a slightly longer episode. Most episodes this season have been around the one-hour mark, but several stretched beyond. This has left fans hopeful for a feature-length conclusion.
