Pakistan un embarrassment: During the debate over the attack on Hamas leaders in Qatar by Israel in the United Nations, Pakistan was fiercely troubled. In fact, UN Watch Executive Director and International level Human Rights Lawyer Hillal Neur accused Qatar of sheltering terrorists and in the same order, Pakistan also described Pakistan as a sponsor country of terrorism.
Hilal Neur, while targeting Pakistan directly on the UN stage, said that if a country gives a place to the terrorists in its capital, then it should not be surprised to be targeted. His sharp statement put Pakistan in the dock. During this time, the Pakistani representative tried to interrupt, but Hilal Neur’s reply shut her mouth.
Hamas leaders were targeted by Israel on 9 September in Doha, the capital of Qatar. After this, many countries took the side of Qatar and criticized Israel. In this debate, Hilal Neur said that if you do not want a target bomb blast on terrorists in your capital, then why do you give shelter to terrorists in your capital? He further said that Qatar Ismail Haniah, Khaled Torch and Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas leaders, in luxurious hotels, from where they plot terrorist activities.
Strengthening his point, Hilal Neur reminded of the 2011 incident when the US killed al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan. On this statement of Hilal Neur, the representative of Pakistan interrupted the UN chair that no speaker should violate the principles of the United Nations Charter and the sovereignty of the member countries. However, the chairperson gave Neur full opportunity to speak and said that he has four seconds to complete his talk.
Neur challenged Pakistan directly on the occasion and said that the President, Pakistan is another country sponsoring terrorism.
