In a disturbing event, a man named Arvind Parihar shot his wife, Nandini Parihar, in broad daylight on Friday near Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior. Reports from the police indicate that Arvind confronted Nandini and fired several shots at her face. Eyewitnesses reported that she suffered four to five gunshot wounds before being rushed to the hospital, where her condition is currently critical. Despite the presence of police nearby, Arvind threatened them with his firearm, causing widespread panic. Officers eventually resorted to using tear gas to subdue him and make the arrest.

Authorities confirmed that Nandini has been admitted to the hospital with multiple bullet injuries. Initial assessments indicate she was struck by four to five bullets in various areas of her body, and her health remains precarious. There are conflicting reports regarding their marital status, but it is known that they had been living together. The police are looking into the nature of their relationship.

The couple had a history of disputes, with Nandini previously filing complaints against Arvind, alleging that he had been abusive. She had expressed her grievances during local public hearings, claiming that he had harmed her.

Nandini had recently reported Arvind for tricking her into marriage while he was already married with children. She accused him and an accomplice, Pooja Parihar, of physically assaulting her in November 2024. Additionally, she recounted a terrifying incident where Arvind attempted to run her, her son, and her mother over with a vehicle, resulting in serious injuries. Nandini also alleged that he had shared fake explicit images and videos of her online, threatened her life, and harassed her family and supporters.

The police had previously registered multiple cases against Arvind, including one for attempted murder. Investigators are now examining whether the shooting incident on Friday is linked to the earlier threats and assaults reported by Nandini.
