Bhindi or ladyfinger has one special thing – its natural oiliness makes it well coated with batter even without adding water, making the pakodas even more crispy.

Required Materials:

  • Bhindi – 250 grams (cut into thin pieces)
  • Gram flour – 1 cup
  • Rice flour – 2 tbsp (for extra crispiness)
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Mango powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Oil – for frying

Method of Preparation:

  1. Wash the ladyfinger, dry it well and slice it thinly lengthwise.
  2. Mix gram flour, rice flour, all the spices and salt in a bowl.

  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the ladyfinger pieces on medium flame till they become crispy.
  5. Drain on paper towel and serve with hot tea.

Serving Suggestion:

  • Serve it with mint chutney or tamarind chutney .
