Bhubaneswar: Authorities in Bhubaneswar have apprehended an individual from Uttar Pradesh in connection with a cyber fraud case amounting to ₹98 lakh, as reported by a police official on Friday.
The suspect was taken into custody in Bijnor district on September 10 and subsequently transported to Bhubaneswar after appearing in a local court.
This arrest stemmed from a formal complaint filed by a victim at the Bhubaneswar cyber police station on July 4.
According to Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena, the victim was invited to join a WhatsApp group in June 2025, where the accused and accomplices promised substantial returns on investments.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
