This film was produced by Amitabh Bachchans company ABCL. Dimple Kapadia and Karisma Kapoor played the lead ladies in the film opposite Amitabh Bachchan. At the screening of this film Jaya Bachchan attended but left without watching the entire movie later remarking that it would not be a hit. Mrityudaata Budget Mrityudaata was made on a budget of Rs 14 crore. However the film was such a huge flop that it couldnt even recover its cost. Mrityudaata’s lifetime box office collection was Rs 8 crore. The movie failed to recover the making cost and was considered a huge disaster at the box office.
