Soup can be enjoyed in any season. Whatever it is made of, it makes a place in the hearts due to its different taste. Right now, we are talking about the soup made from moong dal. It is very beneficial for the body. Moong dal, which is full of nutrients, is very beneficial in many diseases. The soup made from it is a storehouse of nutrients. Patients are also advised to drink it. Immunity often becomes weak during the rainy season; in such a situation, its consumption proves to be helpful. It contains protein, iron, and many minerals. To make it, it is best to use whole moong dal. It is very easy to make and can be prepared in a very short time.
Ingredients
Moong dal – 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Chopped green chillies – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves – 7-8
Lemon juice – 2 tsp
Oil – 1 tsp
Salt – as per taste
Recipe
- First of all, take whole moong dal and clean it. After this, soak the dal in water for 7-8 hours.
- After the stipulated time, take out the moong dal from the water and transfer it to the cooker, add 3 cups of water to it, cover it, and let it whistle 3 times.
- After this, turn off the gas and let the pressure of the cooker release. Now open the lid and grind the moong dal with a hand blender to prepare a soft mixture.
- Now heat one spoon of oil in a non-stick pan. When the oil is hot, add cumin seeds to it and fry for some time.
- When the cumin seeds start crackling, add chopped green chillies, curry leaves, and asafoetida and cook for a few seconds.
- After this, add the blended moong dal mixture to the pan and add salt as per taste.
- Now add 1 cup water to it and after mixing it well, cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes.
- After this, turn off the gas and add lemon juice to the soup. Now transfer the soup to a serving bowl and garnish with green coriander leaves and serve.
